Hypothèses de travail 

- Par image nous entendons information numérique transposable en liste de deux dimensions. – L’image peut résulter d’un signal analogique ou être numérique de fait. Elle peut donc être bruité ou non bruité.
– A chaque modification du réel correspond la projection de cette modification sur une image bidimensionnelle.
– La vision n’est pas strictement la faculté humaine d’acquisition d’information visuelle.
– La vision n’est pas la représentation de “l’ensemble de l’hémisphère du monde situé devant l’oeil, [qui] se fixe sur la paroi d’un blanc roussâtre de la surface concave de la rétine” (Kepler).
– La vision peut être restreinte à la vision machine.
– La vision est un processus de traitement, et à fortiori de production.
– Le traitement d’une image est un problème d’approximation.
– Le traitement d’une image est un processus empirique basé sur des informations mathématiques.
– Une image donne des informations sur le réel.
– Le traitement de l’image offre de multiples possibilités expérimentales.

Objectifs

L’objectif est de créer un protocole expérimental permettant d’envisager l’intervention architecturale en assimilant la traditionnelle étude du contexte au traitement d’image, aux dispositifs industriels de vision machine, et à la robotique. L’objectif est d’envisager un territoire quelconque à partir d’une manipulation algorithmique et robotisée d’image.

Méthode

Initiations aux principes de la vision machine : histoire et conventions ; initiation aux algorithmes de base de la vision par ordinateur; initiation au traitement d’images (opérateurs) & à la robotique (traitement- signal / mécanismes simples de préhension) ; création d’un protocole expérimental de production sur une image du territoire ; simulation et fabrication. L’étudiant décide de son protocole, basé sur manipulation à la fois algorithmique et robotique de l’image, et dicte ainsi les modalités de sa production.
